Director of Development & Engineering, OQS

Thorsten is the Co-Founder of Orange Quantum Systems B.V. (OQS) and Director of Development & Engineering.

OQS is a spin-off of QuTech in Delft, Netherlands, and is co-founded by part of the team who developed Quantum Inspire [51], which is not only Europe’s first quantum computer in the cloud, but is also a multi quantum hardware platform with an electron spin qubit backend next to a superconducting Transmon backend. Fig. 7j shows a rack developed at Orange QS for transmon qubit control. Armed with this experience Orange QS will develop the Kitaev Rack, a standalone integrated hardware/software system capable of controlling Kitmon qubits (WP5). This will include automated tuning of QDs and implementation of single-qubit and two-qubit gates. Orange QS will work closely with the experimental partners in the consortium to enable rapid testing of Kitmon devices and efficient exchange of relevant information.
